The government of Nepal saw the establishment of Purbanchal University in 1993 as an outstanding effort to construct an academic center of excellence in Nepal’s Eastern Development Region. Purbanchal University is located in Biratnagar, Nepal, in the eastern region of the country. Its primary goal was to serve as a catalyst for socioeconomic reform in Nepal by providing a high-quality education that is suited for a good life and a bright future. Management, Science and Technology, Arts, Law, Engineering, medical and allied sciences, and Education are the seven faculties in this University.
Purbanchal University now has three constituent campuses and 89 private campuses connected with it. Since its inception, the university has been driven by the fundamental goal of preserving, refining, inventing, adapting, extending, and transmitting knowledge in an environment that encourages free inquiry and open scholarly debate, resulting in the overall development of rural people, economies, and environments.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must pass the Purbanchal University (PU) Entrance Examination and have completed I.Sc. or NEB (+2 Science) or A level or Diploma in Engineering (3 years) or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English) from any recognized academic institution with a minimum “C” grade in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum 45 percent mark or GPA of 2.00 in aggregate.
