Dassanayake quits his position as cricket coach for Nepal

Pubudu Bathiya Dassanayake is a Canadian who was born in Sri Lanka and is a former international cricket player who played for both Sri Lanka and Canada. Pubudu Dassanayake, the head coach of Nepal’s cricket team, suddenly announced his resignation on Wednesday, citing “personal reasons.”

Dassanayake submitted his resignation through email prior to Nepal’s tour to Scotland earlier this month, according to CAN cricket manager Binod Das.

Dassanayake, who left Nepal in 2015 after a five-year contract, was one of the best coaches during his initial tenure. He was crucial in helping Nepal achieve its first-ever international stage in the World T20 in 2014.
