
World Bank Grants NPR 5.87 Billion For Growth of Education in Nepal
The World Bank has agreed to give a grant of NPR 5.87 billion to Nepal for the growth of the education sector and the strengthening of the health sector. Now, this is very good news for the education sector of Nepal. Nepal education really needs transformation now.
Two different agreements between Madhu Kumar Marasini Finance minister and Faris Hadad Zervos, National Director for the world bank on 14th of September 2021 agreed to provide NPR 5.87 billion for the development of the education sector and to strengthen the health sector in Nepal.
Secretary Marasini stated at the time that improving education and health systems were an important part of ‘building back better after the pandemic. ‘The reform agenda championed by the Nepal Health Sector Programme for Results is critical to Nepal’s vision of an efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable health system, and, in conjunction with the School Sector Development Program, provides a catalyst for improved human capital development, allowing Nepal to finish strongly post-COVID.’
