Madi Municipality Chitwan Launches Free Transportation Service for Students. Students pursuing higher education in the city now have access to free transportation according to the Madi Municipality of the Chitwan District. Following the executive meeting, it was decided to provide the targeted group of students with free transportation so they could access education.
Students from underprivileged groups who live in the municipality and attend college are provided with transportation free of charge. He claimed that a deal had been reached and carried out for this with businessmen in the transportation industry. He stated that the town has now implemented this initiative so that pupils from the lower socioeconomic classes won’t be denied access to education owing to a lack of funding.
This choice has helped about 600 students who attend the three secondary schools Ten Plus Two, Diwakar Memorial Technical School, and Madi Campus Basantpur. A budget of Rs. 14 lakhs has set aside by the Madi Municipality for the provision of free transportation. The facility is now accessible thanks to the municipality’s distribution of transit discount cards. The service began offering its services on December 1, 2022.

This choice will also benefit persons who are elderly or disabled. The elderly will receive a 50% discount on travel, and people with disabilities will receive a 100% discount. When the target class transit concession policy is agree upon by the executive meeting in 2079, the plan officially went into force. According to the town, there are ways to offer bicycles to students who don’t have access to public transit. Students at Hanumanjhula will receive bicycles. Four schools for secondary education already received school buses from the municipality.
Enrollments in educational institutions located inside the Madi municipality should receive concessions. This resource is available to students who commute to and from their campus by public bus.
