Loksewa Aayog, also known as the Public Service Commission(PSC), was established in Nepal on June 15, 1951 A.D. (Ashad 1, 2008 B.S.). It was established to hire civil workers from diverse and autonomous groups. The Commission of Public Service Commission (PSC) is in charge of selecting qualified applicants for various vacant civil service positions as required by the Government of Nepal. According to the Constitution of Nepal, the Public Service Commission(PSC) is made up of an acting chairman and numerous other members. Loksewa Aayog’s main headquarters are located in Anamnagar, Kathmandu, Nepal.
The Chairman and members of the PSC are appointed for 6 years. The Constitution of Nepal provides that the Public Service Commission(PSC) shall conduct a written examination for the posts of Civil Service, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal, and other federal government services.

The Process of Selection
The Public Service Commission conducts examinations for the selection of candidates as per the Public Service Commission (Procedure) Act, 2066 B.S., using one or more methods of selection as follows:
- Open competitive written examination
- Open competitive practical examination
- Interview and,
- Any other methods adopted by the Commission
