Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa Aayog-लोक सेवा आयोग ) was established in 1951 A.D. to select appropriate candidates for Civil Services (Nijamati Sewa -निजामती सेवा ) for the Nepal government in the beginning. After a few years, “the area of selection of candidates widen from civil services to army, police, and other various sectors as well.” The central office of the Lok Sewa office is in Kamal Pokhari, Kathmandu, Bagmati Pradesh, Nepal. Previously the office was located in Anamnagar, Kathmandu.
As per section 243 of the constitution, the Lok Sewa Aayog has various rights & responsibilities like maintaining the law-related aayog, conducting exams, and selecting meritorious candidates for public service of the Nepal Government and its promotion. As per Public Service Commission Act, 2066 (2010) The Screening of the candidates are followed by one or more than one of the below process.
