Institute of Engineering Purwanchal Campus is located at Dharan, Sunsari, Nepal. It is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University (TU) and one of the associate engineering campuses of the Institute of Engineering (IOE). This institution is a comprehensive, autonomous, non-profit institution that was the first higher education institution in Nepal to get financial support from the Nepalese government. Purwanchal Campus has been growing as a center of excellence in engineering education in the eastern area of Nepal within the scope of development objectives and strategy.

History Of The College
Institute of Engineering Purwanchal Campus is situated at Dharan, Sunsari, Nepal. The campus is known as the Eastern Regional Campus and is a part of IOE’s eastern wing (ERC). It was set up in 1978 AD. At first, diploma courses were offered on this campus. According to the loan and project agreements, the campus initially began offering courses in the mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering streams. This college has been running three-year diploma programs in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering since 2043 B.S.
Refrigeration and air-conditioning engineering programs began in 2052 B.S, and computer and electronics engineering programs in 2059 B.S. Similarly in 2057 B.S. the IOE/Purwanchal Campus became the first institution in the nation to provide a bachelor’s degree program in agricultural engineering, known as a Bachelor of Engineering (BE). The 2061 BS year had seen the start of another BE program in civil engineering (2004). This institution has an affordable fee structure.
