Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) was established in July 1992 A.D. to aid in the prevention and management of blindness in Nepal and the surrounding region. It is located at Gaushala, Bagmati Bridge, Nepal. The Nepal Eye Program, a not-for-profit, community-based initiative, is implemented by the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO). One of the active members of Nepal’s Apex Body for Eye Health, Ministry of Health (MoH), with the goal of serving as a model for treatment, research, and training. The TIO institution first opened its doors in 1994, and in June 2019, it was designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Ophthalmology. It is affiliated with CTEVT and offers a Diploma in Ophthalmic Science.
