Lumbini International Academy of Science and Technology (LIAST) opened its doors in 2015 in Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur, Nepal. Lumbini Buddhist University has been linked with it (LBU). It was formed by a multidisciplinary group of highly skilled and experienced experts. M.Sc. in Construction Engineering and Management,  M.Sc. in Disaster Risk Engineering and Management, and M.Sc  in Rural Infrastructure and Development are two-year full-time postgraduate degree programs offered by LIAST.
