Kathmandu University School of Arts (KUSOA) was established in 1996 AD as a public institution. This school is located in Hattiban, Lalitpur District, Bagmati Province Nepal. This organization is one of the seven Schools at the University established to impart education in liberal arts, music, media, and social sciences with the goal of producing able professionals that can provide to the development of the nation. This institution is affiliated with Kathmandu University and offers Bachelor’s and Master Degree Program in Bachelor in Community Development (BCD), Bachelor in Economics (B ECON), Bachelor in Media Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor in Music (Ethnomusicology) (BMus), Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies with Himalayan Language, Master in Ethnomusicology (MMus), Master in Human and Natural Resource Studies, Masters in Landscapes Management and Heritage Studies (LaMHS), Masters in Development Studies (MDS), MA in Buddhist Studies, and Master of Fine Art (MFA) respectively. Education for promoting ideals of social and economic justice and well-being for all persons and their environments is the vision of this school. The motto of this organization is to promote professional knowledge, understanding, and skills in the development of arts, culture, and other social and economic potentials of human resources through captious thinking, analysis, and communications, practical interventions, assessments, and evaluations, and integration of social, economic, political, cultural, and environmental components of development.
