The B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) was founded in Dharan, Eastern Nepal, on January 18, 1993A.D., and upgraded to an autonomous Health Sciences University on October 28, 1998, with the mission of developing a socially responsible and competent health workforce, providing health care, and engaging in innovative health research. The Institute has expanded its healthcare services by teaching district concepts to Primary Health Care Centers, District Hospitals, and Zonal Hospitals throughout the region.The programs offered are MD, MS, MSc, MPhil, Ph.D.
