In this article, we’ll talk about the BCA colleges in Nepal. The four-year, eight-semester Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) undergraduate program at Tribhuvan University (TU) is based on Humanities and Social Science faculties. Starting with the 2074–2075 academic year, TU introduced this curriculum.
First, only six government colleges collectively make up Tribhuvan University’s campus, and each institution has been given 35 places in the BCA program. Tribhuvan University offers affiliation to 120 private institutions around Nepal due to the rising interest of students in this curriculum. All of the colleges are successfully managing this program.
Criteria for Admission and Eligibility
- Students must have completed grades +2 level.
- Students must obtain a D+ in each course and a 2 CGPA.
- Students must succeed in the entrance test administered by TU FOHSS.
- Students should have completed credits for A-level students, and NEB should have offered an equivalent.
- Management, science, and humanities applicants may apply for this course with the above academic prerequisites.

- This curriculum offers various employment opportunities in the software and networking industries, including information technology officers, system developers, analysts, software engineers, system administrators, and app developers.
- The graduates of this program get the knowledge and abilities necessary to design and develop various applications and can design a wide range of business and industry problems that are reliable, reusable, and well designed.
- After completing the BCA program, students can continue their education in Master’s programs in computer science and technology, including Master of Computer Application, Master of Information Technology, Master of Science in Information Technology, etc.
