Ajar Gurung receives a gold medal at the 2022 International Business Olympiad. Ajar Gurung, a student of Prativa Secondary School in Pokhara, received the gold medal in the “International Business Olympiad-2022.” Gurung defeated opponents from other nations to win the gold in the competition, which took place in China on December 3 and 4, 2022.

The medallist Gurung is a Class 12 Management Faculty student, according to Kiran Sapkota, director of Prativa Secondary School in Pokhara. Gurung was one of the students who competed in the International Business Olympiad from 20 different nations. In a tournament between 156 kids from 34 groups from 20 different countries, Gurung took home the gold. The competition featured students from Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Egypt, and other nations.

Gurung finished the contest with a score of 368.5 out of 400. Sharad Gopalakrishnan, an Indian, is ranked second. He earned 358 points. Likewise, Nepalese siblings Adit and Anuska Subedi are third. They each received 357 points. Among the top 20 are seven pupils from Nepal.

According to Sapkota, “This participation and medal prove that our kids can compete at the world level and that Nepali students are also good.” In addition, it demonstrates the aptitude of pupils who attend school outside of the capital. After the physical presence was unable to conduct due to the coronavirus infection in China, the competition, according to Sapkota, was conducted virtually.

Nepali students have elevated the nation’s reputation. Seven Nepali students are among the top 20. This participation and the accolades the students have received attest to the fact that high-quality education is also provided in Nepal, he said. This is something that the nation as a whole, as well as just ourselves, should be proud of.

In the World Economics Cup that was conducted in 2020, Prativa Secondary School’s Seema KC won the school’s silver medal. Four Prativa Secondary School pupils have been chosen for the first round of the regional competition of the World Economics Cup for the year 2023, according to Sapkota, the school’s director.
